Hops
Varieties
There are over 100 varieties of hops grown around the world, each one with its own distinct flavour and appearance. At Hazelton Hops, we have selected varieties that grow well in our location and offer our customers a range of options for aroma and bittering. Each type of hops has been carefully chosen to match the styles of beer that our brewers love to make and their customers love to drink. This year we are also introducing TeaMaker hops specifically for medicinal and cosmetic use. Want to learn more about hops as medicine?
We specialize in aroma hops and use organic processes to bring you the tastiest, cleanest, highest quality product available. The harvest comes in mid-August through early October. Unsold wet hops are dried and vacuum sealed and available all year round. Hop rhizomes and potted plants are available in the spring. Phone or email for details and to arrange pick up or delivery. We are in a Zone 4 growing area and have early, mid and late season maturing varieties available for aroma and bittering and medicinal use.
If you don’t see what you are looking for, let us know and we may be able to suggest a reasonable substitute or source them for you from another hop farm in our beautiful province.

For Commercial Breweries
We are a boutique hop farm specializing in FRESH AROMA hops and invite you to come to our farm to touch, smell and taste each variety of hops while they are on the bine. Harvest time varies by variety, and runs from mid-August to early October. We are happy to work with you on custom blends and forward contracts paid up front to reserve specific varieties and quantities. Fresh hops are $10/lb when you come to the farm and help with the harvest, otherwise we can do the picking and the price is $12/lb. Minimum order 5 lbs per variety.
Just for Homebrewers
We are home brewers too and understand the excitement of making and drinking beer made with fresh, local products. We invite homebrewers to spend an afternoon on the farm, have a picnic using our BBQ, and pick your own fresh hops. You can mix and match your varieties to your heart’s content.
